Middle Seat Policy

Middle Seat Policy is one of our black-and-white portraits — nobody sits between them but the dog. We paint you and your pet together into it from one photo you already have, in black, white and grey with no colour anywhere. Because there is no colour to lean on, the likeness lives entirely in tone and drawing: a white coat stays the brightest thing on the canvas, a black one keeps its deepest darks, and every marking still reads as itself.

This is one of our portraits with people in it, so it takes extra care over faces — around a minute or two longer to paint than a pet on its own. Send a photo where everyone is clearly visible and facing the camera, and we keep every person recognisably themselves.

Available as a finished portrait: we paint it, you approve it, then we print and post it. This style is not offered as a paint-by-numbers kit — the detail does not reduce to numbered areas well.

You see the finished artwork and approve it before anything is printed. If it does not look like them, we paint it again.
