Custom paint-by-numbers kits aren't a same-week gift. The photo gets transformed, the canvas printed, the paints matched and packed, and then it has to make it to you through Christmas post.
Here are the dates we recommend ordering by, so it lands well before the 25th — the timing depends on whether you go custom or pre-made.
Custom Kits: Order by November 24
Custom kits are a four-week round trip in most cases — design, production, and shipping. Ordering by late November gives a comfortable buffer for Australia Post during the December rush.
Order earlier if you're sending interstate or to regional areas.
Pre-Designed Kits: Order by December 10
Pre-designed kits ship from existing stock and are faster. December 10 is the safe order-by date for metro Australia for Christmas delivery.
International orders should still go in by late November.
Last-Minute Backup Plan
If you've missed the window, send a printed gift card with a photo of what's coming. The recipient gets the surprise on Christmas Day; the physical kit arrives in early January.
It works better than you'd expect — the anticipation becomes part of the gift.
Mark the dates in your calendar now. November is the month custom Christmas gifts actually get ordered — December is too late.
